Amalfi celebrates Sant’Andrea: the traffic plan
Amalfi celebrates Sant’Andrea: the traffic plan. Amalfi is ready to honor its patron saint Andrea and, this year, after the two-year stop caused by the pandemic, the procession returns through the streets of the city. On June 27, the leading city of the Coast that takes his name is therefore ready to welcome faithful and tourists on the occasion of this great feast in honor of the Apostle Andrew who, on June 27, 1544, with a miraculous prodigy, a sudden storm, sank the fleet of the Saracen pirate Kair-Ad-Din who wanted to conquer Amalfi.
The traffic plan establishes a ban on transit in some areas of the coastal leader country. The program is full of appointments. In particular, the day of June 27 will be marked by the tour of the band concert, which – as usual – reconciles the residents with their traditions.
At 20 there will be the procession that will affect the main arteries of the town of Amalfi, which will start from Piazza Duomo and will arrive at the Paper Museum. Then, at 11pm, all to attend the fireworks display set up to greet the day. The silver bust of the Saint will be placed in the Cathedral on the afternoon of Wednesday 29 June.
