Ravello celebrates the Translation of the relic of the blood of San Pantaleone. Today 27 July is the day of the festival in honor of San Pantaleone. He is known all over the world and in Italy many churches and celebrations are dedicated to him. The Patron Saint of Ravello, has the liquefaction of blood in common with San Gennaro in Naples, in Campania he is highly revered for his thaumaturgical abilities, from the Amalfi Coast and Agro Nocerino – Sarnese to Salerno, where in the province it is venerated in Vallo della Lucania, a simile with Positano on the other side of the province of Salerno, which has San Vito which comes from the areas of Paestum Capaccio in nearby Cilento.
The Transfer of the relics of San Pantaleone took place on May 16, 1661. For the occasion, the celebrations were presided over by the Apostolic Visitor Onofrio de Ponte, Bishop of Letters, with the assistance of the Chapter of the Cathedral of Ravello, then composed of the Archdeacon Crispino Battimelli , by the Archpriest Pietro Manso, by Primicerio Cosma Manso, by the Treasurer Mattia Mosca, and by the canons Carlo Mandina, Pantaleone Di Lieto, Nicola Camera, Silvestro Di Palma and Alessandro Di Lieto.
